# Split the rent fairly

When one bedroom is bigger or has its own bathroom, an even split rarely feels fair. Set what each room gets and see each person's share.

## How the split works

Part of the rent pays for the rooms you share: the kitchen, living room, balcony and the building itself. That part is split evenly.

The rest follows the private space each person gets. A room scores its square feet, plus extra for a private bathroom, a walk in closet and its own balcony door. Each person pays that part in proportion to their score.

The slider sets how much of the rent follows the private space; the rest is split evenly. Each parking space goes to the roommate who uses it. Pet rent is not in the split: add it to the share of whoever has the pet.
